This month I'm celebrating my 50th ....okay, I'll say it again just so it sinks in. My 50th birthday! Yep, now I know what my mom meant when she said, "When I look in the mirror it doesn't match what I feel inside."
I was in the card shop yesterday and I noticed all of the depressing turning 50 cards. You know...."Over the Hill," "I can't believe your 50," and on and on...of course they did have the "Fab and 50," and "50 is the NEW 40." Why so depressing?
On FB someone sent me a note...See what you'll look like when you're old! Honey, I'm old now, I want to see what I'll look like with liposuction and a face lift! Just kidding, as long as you have your health and your mind…"age ain't nothing but a number," and you're truly as “young as you feel.” Anyway, we have longevity in the family so no need to trip on 50, when I have relatives who’ve lived to be 107 years old.
Turning 50 is a milestone, a time to reflect, re-energize and reassess my goals. If the next 50 years is anything like the past 50, I better hold on tight, because this is going to be an exciting ride...with no regrets!
My view on turning 50... It beats the alternative...which is six-feet under!
I'm just saying...
